Hathaway defeats Sanchez at UFC 114

London Shootfighters' John Hathaway upset the bookmakers and the majority of MMA fans' predictions with a fantastic upset win over top welterweight Diego Sanchez at UFC 114 in Las Vegas. John's first fight in the US and against one of the divisions bigest fighters was a fantastic display of crisp boxing technique and excellent wrestling skills as John cruised to a unanimous decision win. Most apart from those who see his daily training at London Shootfightrers gym had written John off against Sanchez but Hataway, who is only 22 showed his skill and his class in the three round fight with Hathaway dropping Sanchez with a knee in the first round and came close to finishing with ground and pound as referee Herb Dean looked over carefully. John,13-0 and 4-0 in the UFC is seen as one of the welterweight divisions's biggest talents. John hopes to have his next fight when the UFC comes to London in October
